Romantic Beach Anniversary Session | Tampa, Florida

WEddings

She examined the boulders. Unsure if she could make it down them in her wedges. She looked back at Jordan, gauging his expression for his opinion. He glanced at Marlee and saw her uncertainty, walked up to her, scooped her up in his arms, and carried her down the boulders.

It was time.

After 8 years, Marlee and Jordan decided it was time. Rewind to a decade ago ago when Marlee and Jordan met at the University of South Florida. It was no surprise that Jordan fell in love with Marlee’s undeniable beauty and her impeccable work ethic or that Marlee was drawn to Jordan’s infectious smile. After years of dating, a car as a gift (y’all I think Jordan takes the cake for the best gift award ever!), and a diamond ring, Marlee and Jordan have created a legacy of love that genuinely has withstood not only the test of time, but also a long distance marriage (yes, you read that right- these two literally have a marriage that withstood being apart for more than 80% of the year- for multiple years- as newlyweds!).

Fast forward 10 years to today.

He picked her up and carried her down the boulders effortlessly (and these boulders were hard to walk down  you guys). His feet hit the sand and he placed her down on the safer solid ground. In that moment, there was no question about it- Marlee was married to her soulmate.

After 10 years of being together, one would expect for the chivalry and passion to.. lets say “dwindle”. I mean, after 10 years of hard work, we’re all told that the magic fades, right? And it might to an extent. The butterflies might not be there as often, or as strongly. Well.. Marlee and Jordan proved to us that though the newness might fade, the love strengthens. Between stolen kisses and an unimaginable amount of laughter- the love and passion shared between Marlee and Jordan radiates through their images.

And they deserved it.

Looking back not heir wedding, Marlee shared a common regret with many brides out there- that she would have been more meticulous about choosing her photographer, so she could have wedding day portraits of their love on their wedding day that would highlight the love and friendship that she and Jordan share. If anyone deserved to have the most picky romantic engagement session ever- it was the Strawns. As we sent up silent prayers to Mother Nature for an epic golden hour so we could get the most dreamy golden tones in her images possible, we never could have expected that they would have gotten the light that they did. Mother Nature did not let them down! (Besides for the incredibly cray wind and abnormally cold Florida temperature- but with sunset lighting like this- I’ll forgive months nature for hurricane force winds and snow-worthy temperatures!)

Marlee and Jordan- Jordon and I wish the two of you so much love and happiness as your marriage continues to grow over the years. After being together for a decade, it is so evident that people with hearts like yours deserve a love that is nothing short of spectacular. Though we don’t know exactly what your future will hold, we know with full certainty that wherever it takes you, you two will be together (potentially nuzzling now that you’re posing experts), and laughing with one another. Here’s to all the future decades that your love undoubtedly holds. ????
