Luxury Purple and Grey Downtown Wedding | Tampa, Florida

About a year ago, Shauna sat in our spare bedroom. Talking to one of the sweetest, bubbliest, most excited brides she had ever spoken to. In an instant, she shared with all about her family, her dreams for her wedding (which was the best day ever– because their date was on Jordon’s birthday), and most importantly, her love for her fiancé (who was at the time, spending his morning Kayaking- yes, we’re look at you Casey lol!). After talking to Kady, Shauna nudged Jordon some more, being that overly cautious person Shauna is- “Are you sure you’re okay with photographing a wedding on your birthday?” She wanted to be super sure that Jordon was okay with us taking on a wedding on his golden birthday. We would never promise a client to photograph their wedding day unless we knew that it was the perfect fit and that we would be delivering them everything they hoped of and more.

Jordon insisted he was okay with it, and we never looked back… and we sure are glad that we didn’t, because from there, Kady and Casey became an instant #cooneycouple. When we met them for their engagement session, we knew that we were in the presence of an incredible love. A love that we were honored to photograph.

A love and friendship that we would think of for years to come.

As I write this blog post, Kady and Casey are sitting on an island, on their honeymoon, and we can’t help but think of how thankful we are to have people like them in our lives. Yesterday, we had the distinct honor of being featured on our idol photographer’s instagram… highlighting our work. Yes, you read that right- they were featuring our work. And as Shauna sat there, crying (literally crying)… we became overwhelmingly thankful for all of our amazing couples as the hundreds of followers began to flood onto our instagram… because without our #cooneycouples, we would have no stories to tell. It is because of the amazing love, like Kady and Casey’s, that we are able to wake up and do what we do every morning, and because of that, we will never stop growing into the best versions of ourselves.

Because our couples stories mean everything to us.

As Kady saw her grandmother for the first time on her wedding day, her eyes light up. She told her grandmother how beautiful she looked and embraced her in a huge hug… so when we found Kady and Casey dancing with her on the dance floor later at the reception, we knew what an important moment that was for them (spoiler alert- super cute grandma dancing photos are absolutely included below!). And their familial closeness was just the beginning. From the smile and giggle that whispered across the crowd as Kady’s maid of honor, Luci, doubled as a flower girl to the tear steaming down Caseys face as the love of his wife walked towards him, every last moment of their wedding day left us thinking of just how blessed we are to have couples like them. Particularly… their first dance. If you know anything about us, you know our love for…

The Office.

At our wedding, Jordon surprised Shauna with an Office Themed skit followed by a Cooney tradition- an epic music video. Well, when Kady’s mom found us all that time ago, it was based on a post that Shauna made talking about our love for The Office, and clearly, the rest is history. However, when Kady and Casey walked out to their reception to The Office theme song followed by a recital of Pam and Jim’s trademark dance… our hearts burst, Shauna cried, and Jordon laughed in amazement. If this wasn’t a #cooneycouple, we don’t know what is.

Kady and Casey, we have no doubt that you both found The One. We believe in our heart that your love story is an incredible one, and it is one that we are proud to share with the world. From every shutter click we made throughout your day… we constantly commented on the beauty captured, but the reality of it is, it is your love that allowed us to create in incredible images that we have created. It is your friendship. Your future. Your legacy of love. As you two snuggle up on your honeymoon, we hope that these images bring all of the love and admiration that you shared on your wedding day comes flooding back, like adrenaline, and that you two take this time to reminisce in just how truly powerful and incredible you love and friendship is. This time is truly magical, like your love and friendship. Take our advise when we say to pop open a bottle of champagne, snuggle up together, and soak up every.last.moment of this. If anyone deserves it, it is you two.

All our love,

Shauna and Jordon
