Beach Engagement Session | Tampa, Florida

Do you ever talk to someone- even on the phone, and just known immediately that you two were going to click? Well that is exactly what happened when Taylor and I spoke on the phone for the first time. I knew immediately that she was a perfect fit for the Shauna Lynne family. When we spoke on the phone about Tayler’s wedding plans, her wedding dress designer, and about her relationship with Ian, I was over the moon excited to finally meet in person, and when we met for the first time… it was even more perfect than I could have ever expected, along with a few new “first date” inside jokes to go along with it all.  I know I say it all the time, but getting to do what we do is so magical, but even better are the friendships made through it.

Tayler and Ian chose to do their engagement session at the beach and I kid you not when I say this has to be one of the most magical, most beautiful, authentically giggly and happy sessions that I have ever posted. Though you would never guess it, all day prior to the session, they were painting and working on home renovation projects for their new home ???? (and I totally have to add that Tayler texted me a picture of a wood wall she made and I’m basically girl crushing on how amazing, sweet, and beautiful this girl is!

Tayler and Ian are two of the most down to earth people Jordon and I have ever met, and we are so thankful to have them as a part of our wedding family. as a photographer, I am pretty silly, clumsy, totally outrageously outgoing, and completely in love with my couples. When I tripped over a rock I joked about how I’m totally clumsy and awkward when I shoot (because, duh, I’m more concerned about making sure my clients look fabulous!) and Tayler totally didn’t hesitate to say let out that they also are super “awkward”. Guys. Tayler totally lied. All my brides and grooms do. You know why? Because they think they are awkward, yet with a little guidance, love, and lots of silliness, they are straight up models. That is exactly what my sessions are about.

They way that Ian naturally smirks and looks at Tayler was all him. His love for her effortlessly and naturally shines through in their images. And the way that Tayler laughs when Ian pulls her in tight is irreplaceable. During the session Tayler was literally the most adorable giggler in the entire world, and I am pretty sure that Ian will be twirling Tayler in his dreams for a few weeks. To say that they were pro’s in front of the camera is an understatement, they were effortless. And my favorite part about it- they had no idea that we could make it so easy.

And it wasn’t only evident to just Jordon and me. As we all said our goodbyes and got in our cars to leave the beach, an older gentleman tapped on Tayler’s window. Being the protective people we are, Jordon and I looked over our shoulders to eaves drop and make sure all was well. Our hearts melted. The man decided he needed to take time from packing up his car to stop and tell Tayler and Ian what a beautiful couple they were, and how wonderful they were together before they left. He wished them a beautiful marriage and politely said goodbye.

Tayler and Ian-

Jordon and I are restlessly counting down the days and hours until your January 20th wedding, but hopefully while we wait, we will get a few more home-reno updates and inspo for our own place. ???? We know you will love your gallery just as much as we do. I can’t wait for you to beautifully decorate the walls of your new home with these pictures, and for your future children to admire how beautiful and hopelessly in-love their parents have always been.
